Recruiting the other senses

| Artists Wanted | In Focus : Pete Eckert from Artists Wanted on Vimeo.

Pete Eckert is a visual artist. He's also blind.

This short video about his work and life is thoughtful and inspiring. I especially liked the synesthetic quality of Eckert's approach to art, how he says that "sound gives an image..." and how his work involves "learning how to see again using sound."

Fascinating video--thanks for postin. As a musician, I'm really intrigued by the concept of "sound image"--would like to find out more.

Thank you so much for sharing this . I cried as I watched it. I am always thrilled to learn about people who are doing something new and creative - people who make their life sing. But, to also find someone who refuses to be hampered by their disability, who simply accepts the reality of their life and learns to create within it - oh! Oh.
